Um oficial da garda, detetive Colm Horkan foi morto a tiros durante seu trabalho, ontem à noite, pouco antes da meia-noite.
O incidente aconteceu perto da delegacia da Garda, na rua principal de Castlerea, Condado de Roscommon.
Conforme noticiado pela mídia irlandesa, o oficial estava sozinho no local, sem qualquer apoio.
Um homem de 40 anos foi pego e está preso na delegacia da Garda, em Castlerea. Uma investigação sobre este assunto está em andamento.
